Wedding photography | Rustic and beach | Turtle Bay, Hawaii

Many of you be wondering where I got such perfect models. Well…they are my sister and brother in law! I know, it is such a blessing to have photogenic people like them in my family just for me to photograph. Right after the session I was so excited to see the pictures and could not wait to post process them. Once my husband saw one of the image of La Rue, my husband was like “Wow!! she looks amazing. I have a beautiful sister” I know. No wonder:)

Trent and La Rue were married last year in August. I attended their wedding as a one of La Rue’s bridesmaids so I didn’t get the chance to photograph them at that time. So, La Rue and I had been talking about doing a styled post wedding shoot at the beach, and it was great that we were able to do it. The location that they picked had the perfect background for these two cute love birds.

It was frickin hot that day so we started our photo shoot off under the shade. La Rue loved the color of the trees and the rustic atmosphere they brought. The pattern of light and shadow made by random placed natural trees created a romantic place for them to dance. It was gorgeous and I felt almost guilty that I was sharing the same space with them.

Every time it is just so difficult for me to end a session. Even though I have enough pictures already, ideas never stop coming to me. Most likely I will never have the same people, light, and moment again. So when I come up with some more ideas, as a photographer, I feel like it is just not right to just walk away after a certain amount of pictures. I know I am capable of making more beautiful images, even in the last moments. But I felt like it was okay that I kept taking pictures endlessly with them because they are my relatives. I think they of all people already understand how much I love photography..lol I was so annoying..
“I have an idea. Let’s do this!”
” How about this?”
” Can you guys do this again?…And again?”
“Ok… sorry this is the last image… Ohhh nooo please can we do one more?”
“Thank you for bearing with me… it was great session.”

And then if I suddenly found cute detail….
“Wait! Can we take some shot here also?”

hahaha I really need to work on this…lol

I have such a nice and kind family. Every moment was beautiful during this session.
