Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan |  Japanese style Garden, Color dress, Destination

There is nothing better than being the photographer for you only sister’s wedding. The timing was perfect for everything! I graduated from college in August this year, just in time for me to attend her wedding in September, at the Temple in Tokyo, Japan. Then there was the reception at the hotel Marier Oakpine, in Okinawa, in October. I am so happy that their life has now begun together for the rest of forever!

There is a beautiful park located right in front of the temple. I have seen many people married in the Tokyo Temple, but I have never actually seen wedding photos taken in the park. I’ve always wondered why people never go to this place to take pictures because it’s so beautiful there. There is a Japanese style pond, bridge, gorgeous stairs- and its all surrounded by a nice and quiet atmosphere!! Many people do pre or post wedding shoots in photography studios but its not yet common in Japan for people to hire a photographer for their actually wedding day. These pre and post wedding pictures are really traditional and there isn’t a lot of variety to the shots when it comes to lighting, poses, and back drops. So because of all this my sister and I were so excited for this shoot because none of her friends have taken pictures like this on their wedding day.

And I loved how it turned out. At the beginning they struggled with things like simply hugging and holding hands in front of the camera. They were shy and seemed not used to the whole thing hahaha. But I definitely love all the pictures in the park. They perfectly fit in this place.

My sister had a luxurious reception and she had the opportunity to wear two dresses (one is white wedding dress and other a pink dress). I got to take photos of their make-up and dress rehearsals in the venue as well. Both looked amazing, I especially love the pictures with them by the window. I am so glad that they allowed me capture this special moment of their life.
