Sunset Beach Post Wedding

One thing a photographer is scared of the most is unexpected rain during a session. Especially when the bride has perfectly done her hair, her make-up, and is standing there in a beautiful wedding dress with no place to run for cover on such a wide and spacious beach. Kara and Justin are already married and have already had some pictures taken in the snow, but Kara thought since they live in Hawaii they should have post wedding photos on the beach. So this was that post-wedding on the beach in Hawaii session. We started our session a little bit later than we planned but when we got there around 4:30pm the sun was still harsh and bright so we had to wait for perfect lighting. And while waiting it started drizzling on and off, but we decided to go for it anyway!:)  I am so grateful to them for being so willing to push on in the rain because we were lucky to get so many beautiful pictures. While on the beach I was a little bit careful about the random waves coming in from the ocean, because I didn’t want her dress get wet, but that didn’t last long because to my surprise SHE was the one jumping and running into the water. It was one of my favorite “moment shots” from this session. It will probably make all women want to get married in Hawaii and have this experience. People spend tons of money for the perfect wedding location and decorations, but you don’t need any of that in a Hawaiian wedding. Beaches are free for everyone and there is no need for an expensive lighting kit because we have the gorgeous sunset. At the end of the session we were surprised with a light rain shower and a RAINBOW!! Without rain we wouldn’t have been able to see the rainbow. I feel so grateful for the beauty of nature. We had to quickly make the moment last and get a shot of them standing on the rocks with the rainbow in the background. I told them “you guys can do whatever you guys wanna do”,  and that’s just what they did..lololol (You can check the picture!)  hahaha I love them:)
