Wedding photo |Fun, Classic | Northshore Hawaii Temple
I realized one thing they have in common when I was taking the groom’s solo picture at the Temple and the bride’s solo picture at the beach. In the first shots of their solo pictures I had them just look at the camera and smile. Then, I had Kason, still in his solo shot, look smile at Trixie. I did the same thing with Trixie during her solo shot; had her focus on Kason and smile. Their expressions said everything. When they were smiling at the other their smiles on their faces suddenly became natural and real. They were always so much more full of love, and so much more comfortable, than the smile they were giving when they were just focusing on the camera. I also love the other candid shots of them just walking and looking at each other. “Bagay talaga” (best match couple) 🙂
The bride’s dress and make-up preparation pictures tuned out so gorgeous. I’m usually afraid of shadows in pictures. I like super bright pictures, so I want to keep out as much shadows as possible. But on that day I discovered that there is beauty in having a lot of shadows in the picture. I had the bride sit by the window and tilt her face her looking outward. There were a lot of shadows on her face, but the shadows emphasized the light, and made her face a beautiful focal point, full of contrast, and form. I would have never thought I would be enjoying shadows so much with my style of photography. After I shot the key shots I was walking around the room trying to think of something creative when I realized the bride’s reflection on the TV. I quickly took a picture of it! This picture became the one of my favorite photos from that part of the day. I love how I keep learning new things with each wedding and can become a better artist to deliver beautiful images to my clients.
