Rustic, Fun, Simple | Laie ,Oahu, Hawaii Temple | Wedding Photo

The day of the reception was the day Hawaii was expecting Hurricane Iselle. Everyone was worried about the rain and strong wind, however, the few rain showers that hit didn’t affect the reception at all. The strong cold wind didn’t last very long, and the atmosphere turned warm, creating a very Hawaiian and at home wedding. The bride is from here in Hawaii, so her husband’s family traveled here for the wedding. It was beautiful to see her giving leis to both his parents in welcome and in love. That love and welcoming is what I love about the Hawaiian culture here, and I love to capture it in photographs.

This wedding was little bit different from other weddings. It was unique because they had their reception the night before their wedding day. They did this so that they could go straight to their honeymoon right after the wedding ceremony, which I thought was pretty cool!

I loved all the decorations and the theme for this wedding such as: centerpieces, the sign board, and a pair shoes. But my favorite was the gorgeous bouquet with all the variety of flowers. It was unbelievable, so pretty, and the green succulents were especially my favorite. When I saw it, I could no stop myself from jumping with joy and excitement in anticipation of photographing it. I also used the bouquet for the ring shot. I placed the rings in the center of the succulents, around the luxurious flowers and leaves. It has become one of my favorite detail shots so far! Love it!
