It’s already been one year since Dauanie and Jeff got married. I cannot believe time has gone by so fast. I just took post wedding session with Dauanie’s sister, my other sister and brother-in-law. I am lucky to have them in my life and lucky that we are all living so close together. A year ago I got a chance to photograph Dauanie and Jeff’s weddingwhich was my very first experience to photograph a wedding. I am glad that they trusted me even though I had not taken wedding pictures before. I still remember the mixture of feelings I had; excitement, anxiety, and nervousness. And now, a year later, I have the chance to take pictures of their one year anniversary photos:) What an incredible gift I have to share with those who I love.

They planned everything by themselves, so I did not have to prepare anything. Dauanie and Jeff picked the location( Puu Ualakaa State Park), prepared the props (scrabbled letters, balloon, polaroid), and chose their outfits by themselves. All I had to do is to show up with my camera and with the curiosity of what I would be photographing that day.
When I got to the location, I was completely at a loss for words. It was difficult for me to describe everything incredible about this location. Have I really lived in Hawaii for over three years and have never heard of this place? Could I have asked for a more beautiful place? There were too many pretty things to photograph! The city view of Honolulu with beaches, diamond head during sunset, a swing on a tree branch (surprisingly, it was not even one but two swings someone already made for us), and the forest made by super tall skinny trees with their striped texture, and more and MORE!
The location and the props were not the only things that got me excited, but also this beautiful couple! They know how pose for pictures in such an adorable way! I mean, there weren’t any awkward poses or moments between them. If I say run, they are not just running but running in photogenic way? Does that make sense at all? lol Just the way they are makes amazing pictures. Yes!!!! Too much!! It was too much to take from this session!! I seriously felt like I was in the heaven. It was impossible to photograph everything that I had wanted to. We definitely should come back this place to photograph more!!!:)
